• Call changes. The team may choose the changes to be rung but all the bells except the tenor are to take a turn at leading. The opening rounds and the stand will not be judged. Teams must ring for at least five minutes after the first change is called.

7. The rounds before and after the test piece will be unmarked

Are we going to be voting on the above or the proposals under “Meetings, minutes, agendas” heading which are slightly different?
We are voting to accept the proposed new rules. The three changes have been summarised in the agenda but if there is any uncertainty take the proposed new rules to be the correct version.
Thanks,
Duncan
Re rule 2, this has been changed from the original to 2 parts in the proposed changes. Hopefully we will be able to vote for each part separately? You have never given any rationale for allowing call changes.
John David’s feedback supported several responses that the rules should be aligned to the guild rules. I copied the clauses directly from the guild website for a recent guild competition. Other feedback pointed out that they would not like to exclude people from taking part, especially as the point is all about striking and although an element on the 8 bell is to promote advancement in triples and major methods it would be considered wrong by many to exclude an island just because they cannot put a band together that can ring a method. With so much feedback supporting the inclusion of called changes or saying they wouldn’t mind its inclusion we felt that we should have the same rules as the guild with regards to what bands can ring.
The two clauses are separated as a function of the copy and paste from the guild rules which had them as bullet points. I do not intend to separate every single aspect of the proposals into a million votes or we will be at it all day!
