Spring Meeting 2026

MINUTES OF THE ONLINE SPRING MEETING OF CI BRANCH

Zoom 25th April 2026 5.30pm

1. Apologies for absence

2. Attendees : Helen McGregor, Jennifer Hill, Justin Read, Louise Read, William Read, Rebecca Harrison, Jeremy Penrose-Stupart, Nicky David, John David, Ian Wood, Tim Wainwright, Mike Bubb, Anne Le Cheminant, Peter Bevis, Donny Brock.
3. Election of new members : and do we need to do this anymore?

Helen brought the topic up as with the new online member mojo system we do not need to vote and decide new members as they register themselves. Nicky D felt that that was a Branch issue and new members should still be voted in at a Tower Level. It was agreed to email and double check with SDGR whether we needed to vote in Branch members at a branch level or if Tower level was appropriate.

There was a call from Nicky and John David as to whether we should nominally vote in members at both the ringing days as It potentially didn’t take up much of the day and more members would be present at that opportunity than would normally take the time to attend the online meeting. Jennifer Hill mentioned that it shouldn’t take too long as long as no other admin was done.

Louise Read, Becky Harrison and Helen McGregor vocalised that they disagreed with this as to bring admin into a ringing day neutralised the ringing aspect of the day and broke it up. At this point many members on the zoom agreed via the text chat.

Nicky also brought up her AOB which was whether the Spring Meeting was needed any more at all, Itwas agreed with that potentially it wasn’t needed as the admin that had been created for the Meeting potentially wasn’t needed.

It was agreed to decide at the AGM whether to have a Spring Meeting next year.

4. Confirmation of next meeting time and location.

This was confirmed to be taking place at Elizabeth College on 19th Sept with ringing at some point in the day at Town Church. With an online Meeting and AGM to follow 7 days later on 26th September.

5. In Memoriam :

Peter Gallienne and Robbie Sherwood. Both were remembered fondly  by ringers who had known them personally, it was suggested that as more people might attend the AGM they should also be remembered then.
