Looking at rules for 8 bell, the committee is looking to the membership to confirm what ‘flavour’ the competition should be. We think we are responding to previously aired comments & wonder if you can chat between yourselves, read the thread on cibells and come to Jersey ready to vote (do you want to leave things as they are or make the change) on each proposal (a, b & c) separately? We are anxious not to have too lengthy a discussion on these points please – we are there to ring:-)
Currently:
a) 2 x visiting Island teams have @15mins practice – separate from their 2 min competition practice & performance
b) All teams are to ring the same set piece which has been fixed by the committee
c) Possibility of 4 teams in the competition = 3 x Islands + 1 x District
Is there an appetite to make all/any of these changes?
a1) No extra time for visiting Islands to practice before their turn – but then all teams have 6 mins practice, turn the treble over & perform.
b1) Ring what you like only the number of changes is set by committee & call changes also permissible
c1) Either only 3 Island teams ie no District Team. OR c1a) 3 x Island teams plus the option of a Scratch Team as the discretion of the Ringing Master
